More Info & Scheduling Updates on Group Coaching---We Start October 15th!
We have a date and time!
Hello (again)!
I’m writing with a quick update on this fall’s Coaching and Accountability Group, which is that we have a set of dates and times! We will be meeting on Zoom on Sundays, from 11:30am-1pm EST, starting Sunday, October 15th for 8 weeks with a flexible 6-week option available —more on that in a moment! We will be skipping the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and running through December 10th.
Who is this group for?
Fiction writers at all stages. Whether you’re deep into a novel draft, taking lots of notes for stories you’d like to write, or have no idea what to do with your ideas, or where to get ideas, there’s space for you in the group. I firmly believe that we learn best from writers at different stages of process, and that we all have something to contribute to this discussion no matter our current project stage.
Writers looking for community. The group is an intimate space to commiserate and cheer each other on, and to remember, most of all, that you don’t have to figure it all out yourself.
Writers who like to talk through their process or who want to get better at talking about it. As your coach, I’m here to help you articulate the relationship between you and your best work; a willingness to share what ambitions you have for it, or frustrations with it, is most welcome in this space, which will be a lot of working through aloud.
Who is this group not for?
Writers who want feedback on their work itself. The group is meant to provide support for your projects, but it is focused on process and developing problem-solving skills as a writer, and there is no feedback component or reading of work within the group. Though at times we will get into the details of your project if that’s something you’d like to do, no work is exchanged in the group itself.
Writers who are looking for a predetermined, structured system to “fix” their writing woes. One of the fun things about this group is that what we do week to week will be dictated by the group members. We’ll work together to talk through what each individual needs to do their best work: some weeks that might look like reading a craft essay together, another talking through someone’s scene-in-progress, another doing a writing exercise together, or even looking at someone’s schedule to help them find blocks of time to write. Though I’ll provide plenty of structure and offer many paths to solutions, there’s no pre-set curriculum to the weeks, or one-size-fits-all answer I’ll magically reveal.
Pricing
$600 for 8 weeks
$450 for 6 weeks: If you would like to commit for 6 sessions rather than 8, you’re welcome to do so, choosing whichever dates you’d like to skip aka taking two weeks off of your choosing. And if you decide you want to add those weeks back in, or just skip one, you can do that too; 7 weeks would be $525.
Interested? Here’s how to enroll
If you're not already in touch with me about the group, please fill out this short interest survey even if you have done so previously. And if you have, feel free to put in "see previous" for longer answers. I’ll be in touch within a week (usually much less) to confirm your interest and will send you the passcode to enroll.
If you have any questions I haven’t answered here, feel free to email me by replying or drop one in the comments.
Hope to see you in the group!
